The Trip

The majority of Greeks that travelled to Australia under the assisted migrant scheme or through a sponsorship agreement made the journey by ship. By the late 1960s, when airfares started to become more affordable, this began to change.

The Archive is dedicated to preserving the history of the Greek community in Sydney and is made up of the Gregorios and Stavrini Onisforou Oral History Collection and photographs that have been sourced from members of the Greek community and the State Library of NSW.
